Let the fun and games begin

11-15-2010

Monday morning we awoke to the smell of freshly baked biscuits and sausage gravy. Joanne and Cheri were kind enough to get up early and get us fed before our first day of work.

Following breakfast our fearless leaders planned our tasks and sent us out to work, but not before we packed our lunches and loaded up the vans with supplies, tools and God's love.

Q:How many men does it take to pump gas into a work van?
A:Two; one to pump and one to drink the coffee.

Sometimes, God's plans change when we aren't ready for them. Even with the rain, changing plans, loading and unloading and reloading supplies and even more rain, we managed to keep our spirits up and our lights out from under bushels

The teams worked hard at the tasks at hand. Cutting and hanging hardiboard, finishing counter tops and installing sinks and planning and gathering supplies were some of the jobs started on the first day.

Some teams played more than others...
While some of us worked on job sites, picked up supplies and planned for the rest of the week, others planned a surprise party for a special birthday boy. Can you guess who it is?
